Custodial services act as the frontline of defense against harmful pathogens. Facilities rely on them to create a clean, healthy, and sanitary workplace for employees, visitors, and support staff.
However, in today’s austerity based business philosophy of increasing profits through cutting expenses; the constant shrinking of the facility budget, and the continually growing list of environmental health risks, the frontline of defense is incessantly being pierced.
Rocco SSC, Inc., as an imposed service provider, reinforces your frontline of defense through a positive ROI generating cost neutral environmentally sustainable approach.
An old Indian proverb states: “We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors…we borrow it from our children” Through education, the promotion of small ideas, and services that target the overlooked aspects of the everyday work environment, we will improve the safety, health, and productivity of the facility. Our systems will return measurable financial benefits today, so we can continue to build a cleaner healthier tomorrow.
Our management team are pioneers in this field and have been promoting these evolving concepts and systems for over three decades. Our system of focusing on the 3 R’s creates a fourth: Re-Direct-able Savings.
Rocco SSC is dedicated to promoting the understanding that Sustainability=Health. Our disciplines and matrices will protect our environment while returning financial benefits to our clients today, so we can continue to build a cleaner healthier tomorrow.

Superbugs (antimicrobial resistance) infections are estimated to cost the global economy $100 Trillion by 2050. The latest research indicates the misuse of cleaning chemicals (such as disinfectants) can create bacteria that is 256 times more resistant to Ciprofloxacin (a widely used antibiotic). “Globally, 70% of bacteria have now developed resistance to antibiotics.” From 2007 to 2015, 76% of kids treated for AMR (Antimicrobial resistance) infections contracted the infection in their communities.

Janitorial/Custodial services, once commonly referred to as Environmental Services (EVS) a more accurate description of responsibilities. Everyday overlooked generators of MSW, substrate protection, and minimizing environmental health risks within a facility is what the EVS department is charged with. “EVS” personnel are ideally situated to protect the “micro-environments” (us individually and the workspace), while significantly benefitting the “macro-environment” (our surrounding communities).
An Amalgam Approach
We use the phrase “an Amalgam approach to Sustainability Through Employee Wellness “ASTEW,” as our modules are designed to solve problems, without creating new challenges in other areas. We analyze, investigate, test, educate, and implement recommendations. We approach environmental sustainability not as an end, but rather as a process for improving the health and wellness of all we serve.
Sustainability = Health
